Roman Transliteration/English Translation of the original Hindi-Urdu Lyrics (First-time on internet):

hamm tum jise kehtaa hai shaadee,
WHAT YOU AND I CALL AS MARRIAGE,

You Know hai poora barbaadee,
‘TIS A COMPLELTE RUINATION, YOU KNOW,

jo tum lalchaaoge peechhe pachhtaaoge,
IF YOU MARRY IN HASTE, YOU’LL REPENT AT LEISURE,

Mind You…

Mind You jaayegee aazaadee,
BEWARE, YOU’LL LOSE THE LIBERTY!

hamm tum jise kehtaa hai shaadee,
WHAT YOU AND I CALL AS MARRIAGE,

You Know hai poora barbaadee,
‘TIS A COMPLELTE RUINATION, YOU KNOW,

jo tum lalchaaoge, peechhe pachhtaaoge
IF YOU MARRY IN HASTE, YOU’LL REPENT AT LEISURE,

Mind You jaayegee aazaadee,
BEWARE, YOU’LL LOSE THE LIBERTY!

  1. Hilarious! I love the verse where it goes:

WHEN I STEP INTO ANY HOME,
WHAT A WARM WELCOME I RECEIVE!
WHEN I STEP INTO ANY HOME,
WHAT A WARM WELCOME I RECEIVE!
AS I GOT MARRIED, I GOT DISMISSED,
NO COMELY MAIDEN LOOKS AT ME,

The male species should remember that there is a very fine line between "eligble batchelor" and "dirty old man". LOL :P

  2. On occasions such as these, I wish I could sing along with Cliff Richard: Son you are a bachelore boy, and that's the way you'll stay..." Alas, the youth is too short too for one to remain an eternal bachelor since, as Johnson stated, Celibacy has no pleasure. As far as the dirty old man is concerned, perhaps this myth has been perpetuated by a young man who wants the field to himself. LOL.....

I love the above song for the amazing voice modulation of Rafi Sahaab to sound like Johnny Walker.
