Part 14 of 14: Was Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) given the knowledge of unseen?

From the Layman’s Desk: Islamic Article No.18:

Concluding Part 14:   A Brief Survey: Was Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) given the Knowledge of Unseen?

In the Name of Allah, Most Beneficent, Most Merciful.

All Praise is due to Allah The Most High. Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wa sallam, his family and  his companions.

While on the topic of the Knowledge of the Unseen we know that the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) already gave signs and spoke about the Kharjis/Wahhabis/Tableeghis and their manifestations as can be gathered from the following ahadith shareef:

Hadith – 1: Hazrat Abu Huzaifa (RU) narrates a Hadith concerning the leaders of the mischief makers saying  ‘I swear by Allah (SWT) that Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam)  has not left out a single leader of Fitna from this day to the day of Qiyamah. Their followers would number 300 or more and further gave their names and that of their tribes.’ (Abu Dawood).

Hadith – 2: Imam Bukhari (RU) has quoted this Hadith from Abdullah Ibn Umar (RU) that Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) once prayed for Syria and Yemen. It is narrated that there were some people of Najd also present in the gathering and they requested the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) to make supplication (du'a) for Najd also.  Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) continued saying:  ‘O! Allah, Shower Blessings on Syria and Yemen’.  The people of Najd again requested the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) to offer prayers for Najd.  the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said:  ‘It is a place of tremor and mischief (Fitna) and the Horn of Shaitaan will rise from there.’ (Bukhari, Vol - ii, P - 1050).

Hadith -3: This Hadith is mentioned in Sahih Muslim.  Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar ® narrates that ‘ Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) once emerged from the room of Ummul Momineen Hazrata Ayesha Siddiqa ® and pointing towards East (Najd) exclaimed, 'This is the center of Kufr from where the horn of Shaitaan will rise'.  (Sahih Muslim Vol- ii, PP- 1394).

Hadith -4: Allama al-Sayyid Ahmad Ibn Zayni  al-Dahlan (d - 1886 AD), Mufti of Makka and Shaikh al-Islam in Hijaz,   narrates an authentic Hadith in his book 'Addarus Sunniah', which he has quoted from Sihaah.  Prophet Mohammad (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) is reported to have said:  ‘There will rise a group of people in the East who will recite the Holy Quran, but alas, the Quran will not go beyond their throat. This group will keep rising till the Day of Judgment and they will eventually rise with Dajjal. Their main symbol will be (they will) sit in groups (Halqa).’ (Addarus Sunniah, P. 50)

Hadith – 6: Allama Dahlan also quoted another Hadith.  ‘Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq ® reported that the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam)  said:  From the tribes that live in Waadi Hanifa,  Fitna shall emerge till the final era. That valley shall be notorious for its Fitna because of the rise of false leaders. (Addarus Sunniah, P- 52).

Hadith – 7: It is in Tirmizi:  Hazrat Imraan, the son of Hazrat Haseen ® reports that the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) disliked three tribes life long, (i) Banu Saqeef, (ii) Banu Hanifa, and (iii) Banu Umayya.

Hadith – 8: It is reported in Mishkat from Hazrat Abu Said Khudri ® who narrates that, ‘Once we were in the presence and company of Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam). He was distributing booties (Spoils of War) when a person named Zul-Khawaisara, who was from the tribe of Banu Tamim addressed the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam): ‘Oh Muhammad Be Just!’. The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam)   replied:  ‘A Great pity that you have doubts;  if I am unjust then who will be just; you are a loser and a failure’.   Zul-Khawaisara's attitude infuriated Hazrat Umar ® and he pleaded with the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) to permit him to slay Zul-Khawaisara.  The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) remarked:  ‘Leave him, as his slaying will serve no good purpose, as he is not the only individual but there are a host of others like him and if you compare their prayers and fasting to that of yours, you yourself will feel ashamed. These are the people who will recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats, with all these apparent virtues they will leave the fold of Deen just like the arrow leaves the bow." (Miskhat, P. 535).

Hadith -9: The above Hadith has also been narrated as follows:  ‘A person with eyes protruding, with a long beard and head clean-shaven came to the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) and declared: 'O Muhammad! (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) fear Allah.' The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam)  replied:  ‘If  I disobey Allah (swt), then who else will obey Him? I am obedient to Allah (SWT) at all times and never disobedient. Allah (SWT) has sent me as Amin  (Honest for the entire world, but you don't accept me as an honest man?’  A Sahabi (Companion) became infuriated and sought permission to remove him from the presence of the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam). The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) prevented the Sahabi from doing so.   After the person had left, the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said:  ‘From his progeny (descendants) will rise a Group who will recite the Holy Quran but it will not go below their throats. They will leave the Deen (Islam) just as an arrow leaves the bowstring. They will kill Muslims but spare the idolaters.  If I ever confronted these people I would slaughter them just as the people of Aad had been destroyed'. (Mishkat, pp/535).

Hadith – 10: Shareekh Ibn Shihab ®  narrates a similar incident of a person who displayed disrespect towards Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam).  He has stated that Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said  ‘Nearing Qiyamah there will be a Group of people who will recite the Holy Quran but it will not go below their throats. They will leave the true Religion of Islam as fast as an arrow leaves the bow. They will be recognized by the shavings of their entire head and they will move in Groups and their last Group will emerge with Dajjal.   When you meet them you will discover their nature and character, the worst of its kind.' (Mishkat p. 309).

Hadith – 11:  Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri ® and Hazrat Anas (RU) report that the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) stated:   ‘My Ummah is destined to differ and be divided.  So a group will rise whose talks will sound very good but their character will be misleading.  They will read the Quran but it will not descend below their throats (meaning they will not understand its meanings). They will leave Deen just as an arrow pierces and goes right through the prey. They will not return to Islam. They are the worst of creation because of their nature and constitution. They will call the people towards the Quran and Deen whilst in reality they will have nothing to do with Islam. Whoever will confront them, he will be the most beloved servant of Allah. The Sahaba inquired: "Ya Rasoolullah, (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) what is their sign?" He replied: "Sitting in Halqa (circle). (Mishkat, p. 308).

Hadith – 12: Hazrat Ali ® once narrated:  "I swear by Allah that,  to fall from the sky to the Earth is very simple for me, but to utter one false word in reference to the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) is a very difficult and impossible task for me."  Hazrat Ali ® then narrated as follows.  'I heard Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) as saying that as the Day of Qiyamah approaches there will appear a group of youths with a low mental capacity and understanding, apparently they will talk good but their Imaan will not go beyond their throat and they will leave the true Deen like an arrow leaves the bow. Wherever of you find them, you should make Jihaad with them. (Bukhari, p. 1024)

Hadith – 13: The following Hadith is reported by Hazrat Abu Naim ®  in his book titled 'Huliya'.  Hazrat Abu Umana Bahili ® narrates that Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said  ‘Before the Day of Qiyamah, they (the misguided sects/groups) will spread and attack bitterly like the small and the large insects and whosoever witnesses this period must seek refuge in Allah (SWT).  (Huliya).

Hadith – 14:  Hazrat Hassan Basri ® narrated that ‘The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said that there will come a time when people will speak of worldly affairs in mosque and when this period arrives, keep away from such people as Allah (swt) has no relation with them." (Mishkaat).

Hadith – 15: Allama Dahlan quotes in his book 'Addarus Sunnia' an authentic Hadith of Prophet Mohammad (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) which states as follows.   "There will be a Group of people emerging from the East (Najd) who will recite  Holy Quran but it will not go down their throats. They will leave the fold of Islam like an arrow leaves the bow never to return.  A feature to recognize this Group is that their heads would be shaven clean or they will sit in circles)’. (Addarus Sunnia, P. 49).

Hadith – 16:  Muhaddith  Imam Abu Ya'la (R) narrates a Hadith from Hazrat Anas bin Malik ® and the Author of 'lbriz' as follows:  ‘Hazrat Anas Bin Malik ® narrates that in Medina, there lived a very pious youngster.  One day we made reference about this youngster to the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam).  In spite of the Sahaba describing the youngster's features and character to the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam), the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) did not recognize the youngster made mention of.  However, a few days later, whilst we were in the company of the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam), the young man passed that way.  On seeing the young man, the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) exclaimed:  'I see the scabs of Shaitaan imprinted on his face.  The youngster then approached the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) and made salutation. The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) then said to him.  'Is it not true that right now you are thinking that there is no one better than yourself  here?.  'The youngster then replied.  'Yes, these thoughts did pass my mind.  'He then walked away into the Masjid. The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) then inquired as to who will kill this person.  Hazrat Abu Bakr ® volunteered to do so and entered the Masjid and saw the person he was deeply engrossed in performing  Salaat and he remembered a Hadith of the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) which prohibited one from killing a person who is performing his Salah and returned to the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam).  The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) again inquired as to who will kill the youngster, this time Hazrat Umar ® volunteered to kill him and entered the Masjid and found the youngster performing his Sajda and with the same thoughts as Hazrat Abu Bakr ®, Hazrat Umar ® returned to the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam).  For the third time the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) again inquired who will kill the youngster, this time Hazrat Ali ® volunteered to do so.  The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said, 'You will surely kill him, if you find him.'  When Hazrat Ali entered the Masjid, he was surprised to see that the youngster was no longer in the Masjid and he too like the others returned to the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam). The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said:  'If you had only killed him then all the Fitna in my Ummah till Day of Qiyamah would have been wiped out and no two persons in my Ummah would have fought between themselves.’ (Ibreez , p. 277) Author- Allama Shah Abdul Aziz Dabbaag.

Hadith – 17:  In some Ahadith it is mentioned that the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said  ‘There will be a huge confusion within my Community. There will not remain one house of the Arabs except that confusion will enter it.  Those who die because of it are in the fire. The harm of the tongue in it will be greater than that of the sword.'

In short, all those Sahih ahadith cannot be mentioned here but they certainly point out to the fact that these are the people who will recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats, and with all these apparent virtues they will leave the fold of Deen just like the arrow leaves the bow. Now, what else does one need to know about the people of misguidance, heresy and Bid’ah!  Historians have mentioned that Ibn Abdul Wahhab belonged to Banu Tamim tribe.   The House of Sauds belonged to Banu Hanifah tribe.  All historians have mentioned that the place of birth of Ibn Abdul Wahhab is Dariya, in Najd. These are photo finish facts confirming nature of  the Wahhabi movement.  Isn’t it a glaring fact that while Najd is closer to Madina Munawwara than any other region there is not a single hadith in praise of it?

The Wahhabis/Deobandis and their likes close their eyes when it comes to the belief of Ilm-ul-Ghayb - knowledge of the Unseen - possessed by Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam).  According to them such belief is Shirk.  Suffice it to say that even the above ahadith are a telling testimony to the fact the holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) did possess the knowledge of unseen as an ‘Ataaee’ gift of Allah (swt). Else how would he (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) have related to the Sahaba about the divisions in the Ummah, the rivalry of the world, the signs of the Qiyamah and the Fitna, etc., that attempt to tear the fabric of Islam right from the time of the Kharjites to the Wahhabites and their emulators!  The Prophet (s) ordered us to follow the Jama'at, when he said, "'alaykum bi ijma'a al-Muslimeen" ("Hold to the Consensus of the Muslims") and "alaykum bis-sawaad il-'aazam" ("Hold to the Majority").  It is extremely important that we heed the warnings given by the holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) to stick to the Majority and save ourselves from falling a prey to the machinations of these deviant groups who think their views of Islam is the right one whereas we know that there can be no view superior to that of the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam).  There can be no Tawhid without Risaalat. We shall not dwell further on those aspects for fear of digression.  It is most important that we remain with the Jama’ah, i.e. the united body of the Muslims, namely Ahlus Sunnah wa’l Jama'ah, i.e. the Sunnah or ways of Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) and Jama’ah - the things done unanimously by the four Rightly-Guided Caliphs and others in their path.  And don’t forget this yardstick: “jin rasooloN se Allah raazee ho jaataa hai, unheN ilm-e-Ghayb de deta hai.”

Arif-e-Billah, Imaam Sharfudeen Busiri (may Allah sanctify his soul) states in his famous Qasidah Burdah Shareef: "Truly the mercies of this Duniya and Akhirah is but a trace of the blessings of the Beloved Nabi (sallalahu alayhi wasallam) and all the Knowledge of the Unseen (I'lmul-Ghaib ) is but a glimpse of the sacred knowledge of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallalahu alaihi wasallam)".

'We seek refuge in Allah Most High from ignorance, illusion, and deluded claims! We seek refuge from having reached the time described by the Prophet, peace and greetings be upon him, when he said, "just before the Hour there shall come days in which ignorance shall descend and knowledge be lifted , and killing will abound".'

Allah and His Rasool knows best.

EPILOGUE
:
Why do the Deobandis love the Wahhabis/Najdis when the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) himself did not extol the region of Najd whereas he prayed for Yemen and Syria and spoke highly of many other regions which can be seen from the many ahadith.  In fact, when a man praised Najd, the Messenger (sal Allahu alayi wasallam) said ‘You lie!’ Najd lies to the east of Madinah Munawwara and this has not been blessed by Allah with any Wali (Muslim Saint) or Salih (Righteous, Pious soul) since the beginning of Islam down to the present day.  In fact, the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) had said about them in a Sahih Hadith narrated by al-Bukhari:  The people of the east are rude and bad mannered… whereas al-Imaan (the correct faith) and good qualities  are with the people of Hijaz.”   The Wahhabis  oppose this hadith, as when they are in Makkah Shareef and in Madinah Munawwara they feel very disturbed and unsettled because Tawassul and Tabarruk are constantly being practised there, and when they betake themselves to al-Riyadh, they say: “Alhamdullilah, we have reached the place where Iman is.”

As the late Shaykh al-Ghimmari has demonstrated in his Ihya al-Maqbur (p.59-60): “And nothing has emerged from there to bring about earthquakes and Fitnahs in the religion like Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, who was astray and led others astray.  Hence he was the Devil's Horn foretold by the Messenger (upon him be blessings and peace), and he abstained from offering prayer for Najd because of him, and because of the Fitnahs which would flow from his demonic da'wa. Whoever adheres to that da'wa has committed unambiguous kufr, and is destined for apostasy and 'swerving from the religion', as is visible in the case of the other mulhids [heretical unbelievers] of the age who are notorious for their ilhad, for in every case they began by holding fast to the sect of the Devil's Horn, as is well-known to scholars of experience and insight.”  The Shaykh [May Allah (swt) grant him Jannatul Firdaus ] therefore advises: “So fear God, and do not be like he who is beguiled by them and supports their corrupt sect and worthless opinion, and their state of misguidance which was explicitly described by the Prophet (upon whom be blessings and peace), who characterised them as the 'Dogs of the Fire' [kilab al-nar], and informed us that they are the 'worst of all who dwell beneath the sky', and that they 'swerve from the religion as an arrow swerves away from its target,' and that they mouth among the best of sayings in the form of their prattlings about Tawhid, and implementing the Sunna, and combating Bid'as - and yet, by Allah, they are drowning in Bid'a; in fact, there is no Bid'a worse than theirs, which causes them to 'swerve from the religion as an arrow swerves away from its target', in spite of their superficial efforts in worship and adherence to the religion. It is as the Prophet (upon whom be blessings and peace) declared: 'one of you would despise the prayer he says among them, and the fasting he completes with them; they recite Qur'an but it goes no further than their collarbones.'”

Now why do the Deobandis love the Wahhabis when it is generally known that the Wahhabi curriculum doesn’t follow any Sunni school?  The Ulama of the Ahlus sunnah wal Jama’ah hold that taqleed of one School of Thought (mazhab) is necessary.  The Wahhabis claim that "following the four schools of Ahlus-Sunnah (taqleed) is shirk"!  [See the Fatwa of al-Qanoojiy in his book "ad-Deen al-Khalis" v1, p140.]  The Wahhabis are vehemently opposed to the Asharis and Maaturidis, who constitute the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah and are two groups whose beliefs are correct..  There are dozens of other differences. The Wahabis hold that Allah is really resting on His throne in the sky, while we hold that this is from the Mutashabihaat. (Those unclear statements whose meaning is only known to Allah).  To state very shortly, the Wahhabis cannot be Sunnis because as we have seen in this Article they oppose that Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) was bestowed the knowledge of unseen by Allah (swt).  As an Islamic scholar says:  Kafir, Mushrik, Shirk, Bidah --- these are the trademark terms of Ahle Bidah Salafism. This 'Jama’at Al- Takfeer has hijacked Islam wearing the garb of religion . These People  desert the path of Ahlus Sunnah Wa Jama’at and riding on their own intelligence to understand Al quran and Hadeeth , they follow their own desires and path. The result is very dangerous and the Muslim Ummah is on the brink of the civil war. This fatwa factory declares almost all Muslims to be Kafir and Mushrik for having belief in Hayatun Nabi, Tawassul, Istigatha and Taqleed.

Why do the Deobandis, claiming to be Hanafis, love the Wahhabis, especially when the Wahhabis have also been called the modern version of the erstwhile Kharijites regarding whom we have noted the above ahadith shareef!   Famous Maliki Scholar Ahmad  Sawi (1825 c.e.)  wrote a commentary  (Hashiya) called Hashiya al-Sawi ‘ ala al-Jalalayn and while explaining Quran 35: 6 ( verse 6 of  sura Faatir) “Truly, the Devil is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy: he only calls his party to become of the inhabitants of the blaze" he wrote as follows: “It is said this verse was revealed about the Kharijites ( foretelling their appearance), who altered the interpretation of the Qur’an and Sunna, on the strength of which they declared  it lawful to kill and usurp the property of Muslims—as may now be seen in their modern counterparts; namely, a sect in the Hijaz called "Wahhabis," who "think they are on something, truly they are the liars. Satan has gained mastery over them and made them forget Allah’s remembrance. Those are Satan’s party, truly Satan’s party, they are the losers" (Qur’an 58:18–19 We ask Allah Most Generous to extirpate them completely.”  (NB: You won’t find this note in any Wahhabi-printed editions, but only in the earlier ones.)

As an Islamic scholar points out:  The ideology of modern day Khawarij is that Allah has "PLURAL SHINS/LEGS" [See footnote in Muhsin Khan's translation of Noble Qur'an under 3:73 Published from Saudi Arabia], that Allah has a shadow (See Bin Baaz crusader's fatwa here: http://www.binbaz.org.sa/mat/4234), that Allah does literal Running/Jogging [See Ibn Uthaymeen al-Wahabi's Aqida section of his Fatawa (Pg. 112) and this is also mentioned in Lajna (3/196)] and such anthropomorphic beliefs. Some modern Khawarij also believe that "Allah is capable of doing bad acts as that makes him superior to creation [See Ismail Dhelvi al-Wahhabi in Yak Rozi, followed by sympathetic towards Wahhabism Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi in Fatawa Rashidiyyah]" this and similar beliefs by them is their declaration of war upon Allah.  (within the meaning of Quranic verses, including  5:33)…. The modern day Khawarij believe that he (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) did not know of Unseen at all (Whereas Qur'an and Sunnah prove his immense knowledge of Unseen and future events, see for example Qur'an 3:179, Qur'an 72:26-27, Qur'an 81:24, Qur'an 4:113, Qur'an 6:75, Qur'an 16:89 and many more verses and Hadiths of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, one reference of Bukhari is Volume 8, Book 77, Number 601, another reference is Volume 2, Book 23, Number 428, another is Sahih Bu(skhari Volume 5 Number 24 and many more. We know Wahabis love to find faults in Prophet  (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) whereas we should always remember that genuine Ahlus Sunnah study Qur'an and Sunnah to uplift the status of Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) and we consider him to be "ABD-ULLAH" whereas Wahhabis always spend days and nights to somehow find his faults.  Decision is yours as to who is right. Also refer to Qadhi Iyaadh's Ash-Shifa where he made a whole chapter with title: Chapter regarding grant of Ghuyub (Unseen) to Prophet (Peace be upon him) and of things which have to happen in future :See Ash'Shifa Volume No.1, Page No.206…. Qur'an states: Say: Shall we inform you of who are the "GREATEST LOSERS" with respect to their deeds? It is those whose entire struggle is wasted in the life of this world, "BUT THEY PRESUME THEY ARE DOING GOOD" [18:103-104]    When Ibn al Kawa (a Kharj'ite) asked Sayyidna Ali (RA) about these losers, Sayyidna Ali (RA) replied: It is you O people of Hurrura [See Tafseer at-Tabri (16/33-34)]

Even a mad person (yes literally mad!) understood the falsity of the preaching of the Najdi Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Wahhab.  Here’s an incident:  Shaykh Sulayman named his refutation against his brother „al-Khitab fil Radd „ala Muhammad ibn „Abdul Wahhab‟ (The Empathic Speech on the Refutation of Muhammad ibn„Abdul Wahhab) However, Allah protected Sulayman from the evil and deception of his brother, whose great influence spread threat far and wide. This is because if one contradicted and refuted him, and he was unable to kill him openly, he would send someone to assassinate him in their bed or in the market-place at night since he judged whoever contradicted him to be a blasphemer and legalized their killing. It has been said that an insane person lived in the town and among his habits was to strike whoever he came across, even with a weapon.  Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab gave an order that this insane man was to be given a sword and admitted into the mosque where his brother Shaykh Sulayman sat alone. When Shaykh Sulayman saw him, he was afraid. The insane man threw away the sword from his hand and said, “O Sulayman, do not be afraid; you are of those who are saved ”.  He repeated this many times and this is without doubt among the karamat [Al-Suhub al-Wabila, ala Dara‟ih al-Hanabila (Torrential Rain-Clouds over the Graves of Hannbalis) page 275]

Yet, the Deoband Akabirs openly profess to be Wahhabis:  The founder leader of the Tableegh Jamaat, Molvi Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi states: “The followers of Mohammad Ibne Abdul Wahab are called Wahhabis, their beliefs were excellent.”(FATAWA-E-RASHIDIA – Vol. 1- Page 111)(6) i)   In fact, clarifying and reiterating his and the beliefs of the Deobandis, Molvi Manzoor Nomani, head of the Tableeghi Jamaat states: “And we also state here clearly that we are extreme Wahabis”(SAWANEH MAULANA MOHAMMAD YUSUF KANDHALVI – Page 192)ii)   In the words of the Patron of Tableeghi Jamaat, Molvi  Mohammad Zakaria Khandhalvi: “Maulvi Sahib, I myself am a greater Wahabi than you.” (SAWANEH MAULANA MOHAMMAD YUSUF – Page 192)iii)  In the words of the Central Directorate of  Tableeghi Jamaat Molvi Ashraf Ali Thanwi: “Brother, here Wahabis reside, do not bring anything for  Fatiha, Niaz, etc. here.” (ASHRAFUS  SAWANEH BOOK 1 – Page 45;  "If I had Rs 10000 I would have distributed it and people would have automatically become WAHABI..."  Ashraf Ali Thanvi in Al ifadatul Yaumiya) and yet the current Rector holds him as a “Sufi Saint”!  And they continue to fool Muslims into believing that they are following Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaat.

Why should  Muslims be fooled by them?  Apologists use a more sophisticated approach, and mislead the Sunni masses by denying the meaning of their explicit insults and intentions. If Deobandis are Sunnis then why they are destroying Sunni Shrines and at the same time making a show at Ajmer Shareef and Baghdad Shareef? Why they hate the day of birth of Prophet Mohammed?, Why do they love Yazid, a killer of Imam Hussain? Why they call it Shirk to say "Ya Mohammed" or "Ya Rasoolullah"? Why they hate Panjatan?  You will hear, “Shirk, Shirk, Bidah, Bidah…” to justify their misguidance – a natural result of their close relations with and the blasphemous influence of the Wahhabis.   Their litany of leveling shirk and bidah against the Majority Muslims is long – though baseless and full of lies – and time and again they have been soundly, very soundly refuted.  Since the Deobandi Akabirs, as we have seen, have identified themselves voluntarily with the Wahhabis, and because in Wahhabi belief, following any particular from the Four Imams is considered Shirk, how can it be reconciled that Deobandis are Sunnis?

The innocent Muslim masses need to appreciate that one cannot be a Wahhabi and Sunni at the same time; one cannot be a Hanafi or Shafii or Hanbali or a Maliki while following the ghair muqallid creed of the Wahabiyya.  One cannot be a praiser of accursed Satan as well as of Allah (swt).  One cannot be a blasphemer of Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) while claiming to be his (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) follower, and the list goes on and on.  This is important because those Deobandis/Wahhabis who follow the teachings of “Gustaakh-e-Rasool” such as Ismael Dehlvi, Qasim Nanotvi,Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi, Khaleel Ahmad Ambethawi, Ashraf Ali Thanvi, Najdi Shaykh ibn al-Wahhab and their modern counterparts, etc.,  knowing of their devious preaching and blasphemous utterances in respect of the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) will naturally fall into the same category.

Why these double standards? Can they be said to be on the true path?  Certainly not! How can they be on the right path when their corrupt beliefs prove that they have no true love for the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) and they are the greatest insulters of the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) for which the Islamic rulings have thrown them out of Islam.  They believe that Allah can tell lies and do bad things, thus claiming shortcomings in the Attributes of Allah (swt).  Hussain Ali Deobandi has written "Allah (SWT) does not know in advance what human beings (His servants) will do.  He comes to know about it when humans perform their actions. (La haula wala quwwata illah billah) Reference - (Tafseer Balaghatul Hayyraan, pages 157-158, Himayat-e-Islam Press, Lahore, written by Hussain Ali Deobandi).  Salalfis and the like minded groups have misunderstood Quranic verses that explain Allah's (SWT) attributes.  In their attempt  to take textual meanings of  these verses, they have committed Shirk by conceding  ‘hands, eyes, face, direction, limitations, dwelling, etc., for Allah (SWT). An innocent Muslim will be shocked by all that they have stated in their books which will reveal how far they have strayed away from Islam.

Again, dear Readers, if the Wahhabis who claim that they are on the way of the salaf are indeed true in their claim, why are the scholars they always mention when they speak or preach NOT from the salaf? The oldest one of them, Imam Ibn Taymiyyah, is from the 7th Islamic century. Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, Shaykh Bin Bazz, and Shaykh Al Albani are all from within this century. As for ibn Qayyim and ibn Katheer they for most part echo their teacher Ibn Taimiyya.  As for Muhammad ibn al-Wahhab, his own father, brother and teacher and other righteous ulema condemned his teachings.   It is striking that not one of the great muhaddiths, mufassirs, grammarians, historians, or legists of Islam has emerged from the region known as Najd, despite the extraordinary and blessed profusion of such people in other Muslim lands.  As for the Deoband’s Tablighi Jamaat, apart from the Qu'ran, the only literature Tablighis are required to read are the Tablighi Nisab, seven essays penned by a companion of Ilyas in the 1920s.

If you take time to ponder from the historical point of view, you will find that wahhabism is not at all a religious or revivalist movement but rather a sheer opportunistic political movement that was formulated and advanced by declaring the other Muslims as Kuffar and Mushrikeen so as to legitimize the Wahhabis/ Salafis in their actions of murdering the Sunnis and the Shias, usurping their landed and moveable properties, and enslaving and killing their women and children.   Regarding the Tabligh Jamaat, the French Tablighi expert Marc Gaborieau, its ultimate objective is nothing short of a "planned conquest of the world" in the spirit of jihad. [Marc Gaborieau, "Transnational Islamic Movements: Tablighi Jamaat in Politics," ISIM Newsletter (International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World), July 1999, p. 21].  According to Stephen Schwartz and Irfan al-Alawi,  the Deobandis and Wahhabis seek absolute direction over the lives of Sunni Muslims, and, by extension, over all Muslim relations with their non-Muslim neighbors. The aim of "fatwa fanatics" is not religious; it is political and totalitarian. [Fatwa Fanatics - The Deobandi-Wahhabi Lust for control over personal life.]

We seek refuge in Allah from such statements as signify extreme ignorance, indeed enmity to the Prophet and to Allah's Pure Religion.

O Allah! Every moment and in every breath, bestow complete and the best blessings and perfect peace which is endless on Muhammad, our master, and on his descendants and his Companions, and may, for His Sake, all our troubles and tortures be over, calamities ended, and all our needs fulfilled, all our cherished desires attained, and good ends vouch-saved, and clouds are laden with water through the glorious countenance of Prophet. The perfect blessings and peace on the Prophet's House, his Family and his Companions every instance in number equal to the count of all things in Thy Knowledge".

Part 13: Was Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) given the knowledge of unseen?

From the Layman’s Desk: Islamic Article No.18:

Part 13: A Brief Survey: Was Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) given the Knowledge of Unseen?

In the Name of Allah, Most Beneficent, Most Merciful.

As we have seen earlier, the Deobandis/Wahhabis deny, among other things, that Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) was at all given knowledge of the unseen by Allah (swt).  The muslims of Ahlus sunnah say and believe that Allah alone has the self knowledge of unseen and He bestows this to any one whom He wishes.  Knowledge of the Unseen is one of Allah's prerogatives, exclusive to Him except insofar as He discloses it to His elect servants.  The last 12 Parts of this Article have been devoted to proving just this.  In the beginning we have already pointed all the Quranic verses regarding the Knowledge of the Unseen.  Some clearly show that Allah (swt) does reveal His secrets and some knowledge of the unseen to his prophets.  We also produced sound hadiths in support.  There is no error in holding that Allah (swt) bestows a part of the knowledge of unseen to his prophets and they convey it to their successors.   We already noted before that the Qur'an states: Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good "NOR WILL HE DISCLOSE TO YOU THE SECRETS OF THE UNSEEN, BUT HE CHOOSES OF HIS MESSENGERS (FOR THE PURPOSE) WHOM HE PLEASES" So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure. (3:179) The beautiful ayah of Surah al Imran 3:179 is ''one of the'' Qati'i Nasoos  for  Prophet  (Peace be upon him)'s Knowledge of Unseen. The context of this ayah proves that Munafiqeen doubted the knowledge of Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) about Imaan and Kufr of people who are yet to be born whereas he does not recognize us.  Here is Tafsir of the ayah:
Rasul Ullah (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) said: My Ummah was presented to me in their shapes of clay like they were presented to Adam (as) and I have known who shall believe and who shall do Kufr. When  Munafiqeen found out about this they laughed and said: Muhammad (sal Allaho alaihi wasalam) claims that he knows about Imaan and Kufr of people before their birth whereas we are with him and he does not recognize us.  When the Prophet (صلى الله عليه Ùˆ آله وسلم) found out what Munafiqeen said, he then stood up on the pulpit, did Hamd and Sana of Allah and said: What will be the situation of those people who found faults in my knowledge, I will explain to you everything from now onwards till the day of judgement. [Tafsir al Baghawi, Tafsir al Khazin, Under 3:179]  Hence from Nass of Quran (i.e. categorical proof of Qur'an) It is established that Ilmul Ghayb is Dhaati (personal) Sift of ALLAH alone but also At’ai (granted) Sift of Prophet (sal Allaho alaihi wassalam).  If this point is understood then Insha'Allah all so called debates on Nafi-O-Isbaat (negation and affirmation) of Ilm ul Ghayb shall end.  This means that ALLAH knows by Himself and is Aalim ul Ghayb (a title, which we mentioned earlier, which cannot be given to anyone else.  Wahabis/Deobandis lie that Ahlus Sunnah believe Prophet to be Aalim ul Ghayb) and he holds the keys of Unseen.  This in no way means he does not teach "ILM UL GHAYB" to anyone.  Wahabis practise hyypocrisy by misquoting Qur'an where Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) denies Dhaati Ilm ul Ghayb not his Ata'i Ilm ul Ghayb.  Regarding the Quranic verses which  deny knowledge of the unseen and extraordinary powers, the reader is urged to understand that those verses really mean that independently the prophets are incapable of knowing the unseen and performing miracles.  And this is our stand too, since it is Allah alone who grants these gifts to his prophets.  So let not the Najdis/Deobandis  beguile you into thinking otherwise!

We have already explored that many scholars held the view that Allah Most High had granted the Prophet (upon him  blessings and peace) that knowledge before he left dunya. This is confirmed by his own words in which he indicated that his knowledge of the unseen (`ilm al-ghayb) was formerly partial then became complete at a later point. This completion took place first in dream as expressed in the hadith “everything became manifest to me” (al-Tirmidhi, hasan sahih); then while he was awake when he said in the famous hadith of the eclipse, “Nothing whatsoever that I had not been shown before is left but I was shown it while I stood right here” (al-Bukhari and Muslim). There are many other proofs that were listed 18 years ago in Shaykh Hisham’s Encyclopedia of Islamic Doctrine, chapter on the Prophet’s `Ilm al-Ghayb. We have also discussed the last verse of Surah Luqman and the views of the Moroccon  Shaykh Abdullah Ghumari explanation of the hadith regarding Prophet’s (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) knowledge of the unseen ‘except the Five’.  Again, nor is the Prophet's knowledge after his life in dunya in any way lessened. Rather, the contrary is true, as established in the following hadith:  My life is a great good for you, you will relate about me and it will be related to you, and my death is a great good for you, your actions will be presented to me (in my grave) and if I see goodness I will praise Allah, and if I see other than that I will ask forgiveness of Him for you.  The soundness of the this hadith has been explained at great length by the Sunni scholars and therefore we need not listen to those who try to show that the above hadith is a forged one,  since they soundly stand refuted.  Just one quote out of the many:  Qadi Shawkani writes:  "Our Prophet (sallal laahu ‘alaihi wassallam) knows the actions of his Umma. When he sees them doing something good, he is happy and when he sees them doing bad actions he makes du'a for them" [Qadi Shawkani, Nayl al-Awtar]  We reiterate that Shaykh al-Islam, Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani, writes:  "One of the qualities bestowed upon a Prophet is the quality that he knows what has already happened in the past and what will happen in the future" (Fath al-Bari, Chapter on the Anbiya).

We must remember that after Allâhu ta’âlâ, the most honourable and sacred entity within Islam is the personality of the holy Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allâhu ta’ala ‘alaihi wa sallam), the Chosen One, and his respect is mandatory upon every Muslim. There are Quranic verses and many ahadith concerning reverence towards the holy Prophet (sall-Allâhu ta’ala ‘alaihi wa sallam).  To state shortly, Allah (swt) commands us to revere and honour the holy Prophet (sal Allaho alayhi wasallam) (Qur’an 48:8-9).

We now turn to the Najdis who, according to the righteous scholars, are worse than even the Mu'tazala: for the Mu'tazala denied the Honourable Awliya the knowledge of the Unknown but not the Prophets; while the vicious Wahhabia have denied the Prophets themselves.  As per the Wahhabis, one who claims to know something from knowledge of the Unseen is a taghut or false deity (Ibn `Abd al-Wahhab, al-Usul al-thalatha, end)!  Also, no one except Allah has the knowledge of the unseen. And if any one ascribes knowledge of the unseen to anyone except Allah , then he becomes a mushrik!  Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen: “The ruling on one who claims to have knowledge of the unseen is that he is a kaafir, because he has disbelieved in Allah.”  “Those who claim to have knowledge of the unseen future are all fortunetellers”.  [Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 1 Shawwaal, no. 115]

Let us see their own Takfir against their own Imam.  It is also well-known that the Wahhabis/Najdis/Ahle Hadith/Salafis don’t accept the Miracles (karaamaat) of the Awliya-Allah and yet this book, The Lofty Virtues of Ibn Taimiyya speaks of the miracles of Ibn Taimiyyah!  The Book, The Lofty Virtues of Ibn Taimiyya has among its Table of Contents at page 22 Ibn Taimiyya’s “Miracles and Incredible Foresight”, while the explanation for the suffix 42 is given at the bottom of the page…which reads as below :
The occurrence of miracles (karamat) to the awliya’ is a reality that is agreed upon between the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah, and is proven in the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah. For example, the Qur’an contains the story of the People of the Cave, while the Sunnah contains stories of the Angels greeting ‘Imran bin Husayn, to name a few.  It may be stated that according to the meaning given by the Wahhabi Shaykh Google  the word FORESIGHT is “The ability to predict or the action of predicting what will happen or be needed in the future.” Why we have taken the meaning of this word from google is because when these self-called ahle hadeeth can’t answer us they say that the sunnis have misinterpreted the words.

It is mentioned in pages 22-25 of The Lofty Virtues of Ibn Taimiyya, written by Hafidh Abu Hafs 'Umar bin 'Ali al-Bazzar and Translated By Abu Sabaayaa:  “And I was told by the righteous Shaykh ‘Uthman bin Ahmad bin ‘Isa an-Nassakh (may Allah be Pleased with him) that he would visit the sick in the hospital in Damascus every week, and this was a constant habit of his. He once came to a young man and supplicated for him, and he was quickly cured. He came to the Shaykh wanting to greet him, and when he saw him, he smiled to him, pulled him close, gave him some money, and said: “Allah has healed you. So, promise Him that you will quickly return to your homeland. Is it right for you to abandon your wife and four daughters without a provider while you sit here?”  The man kissed his hand and said: “Sir, I repent to Allah on your hand,” and he later said:  “I was amazed at what he knew about me, as I did leave them without any provision, and nobody in Damascus had known of my situation.”
And I was told by someone I trust that some judges were on their way to Egypt to assume positions there, and that one of them said:  “As soon as I arrive in Egypt, I will rule that such and such of the noble scholars should be killed.”  Everyone had agreed that this scholar was righteous and pious. However, this man’s heart contained such hatred and enmity to him that it drove him to want him dead. Everyone who heard him say this became worried that he would actually carry out his threat to kill this righteous man, and they were afraid that this man who wanted to be a judge would be led by Satan and by his own desires, causing him to spill sacred Muslim blood - they feared the great evil that would result from such an action.
So, they went to Ibn Taymiyyah and told him of exactly what had taken place.  He said:  “Allah will not allow him to carry out what he wants, and he will not even get to Egypt alive.”  The judge had a very short distance to travel until he would arrive in Egypt when he was suddenly stricken with death.  So, he died before arriving in Egypt, just as Allah had revealed on the tongue of the Shaykh…” [pages 22-25 of The Lofty Virtues of Ibn Taimiyyah].
Again, on Page 34 of the same book:  “If I had to swear standing between the corner of the Ka'bah and the spot of Ibrahim, I would swear that I have not laid my two eyes on anyone like him, nor has he seen anyone as knowledgeable as himself.” - al-Hafidh adh-Dhahabi
We read in Al-Uqood al-Duria by ibn Abdulhadi al-Maqdisi, page 326:  “Such as this wise man he could cite the commandments that came down from the heavens and earth.”  Al-Maqdisi is a Salafi, trying to praise his Master:  "To him, Ibn Taymiyyah knew all the divine commandments from Adam (as) to Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam). But, we think that is unseen knowledge!"  [Al-Uqood al-Duria, page 326]
Well...well how about that?

Now let us see the reports by Ibn Qayyim, a direct student of Ibn Taymiyyah and not to forget an eyewitness to the happenings...

We read the below-mentioned accounts in Madarij al-Salekin by Ibn Qayyim, Volume 2:

Page 489:  He (Ibn Taymiyyah) informed his companions about the invasion of the Tatars in Shaam in year 699 H, and that the Muslim army would be defeated, but there would neither butchery nor capture. The army would only seek money. This was (foretold) prior to the Tatar marching.  Is this prediction a claim to unseen knowledge?

Page 489:  Then he (Ibn Taymiyyah) told the people and the commanders in year 702 when the Tatars marched towards Shaam: that they (the Tatars) will be defeated and the victory will be for the Muslims.  He gave seventy oaths on that. They (the people) said to him: ‘Say inshallah.’  He replied: ‘Inshallah for sure, no comments.’  I heard him saying that when they (the people) insisted on him, he replied:  ‘Do not insist, verily Allah wrote it in the Guarded Tablet that they (the Tatars) shall be defeated in this battle and the victory will be for Muslims’.  Ibn Taymiyyah made a prediction, and swore seventy(70) times to its authenticity. When the people kept doubting him, he told them the source of his information: the Lau al-Mahfuz (the Guarded Tablet).  It is in the heavens, and Wahhabi/Salafi's do not accept that even the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) had any access to it?

Pages 489-490:  "When he was sent to Egypt and they wanted to kill him after they made a plot against him. His friends gathered to bid farewell to him and they said to him: ‘We have a succession of messages that they intend to kill you.’ He replied: ‘By Allah they will not be able to achieve that.’ They asked: ‘Will they put you in jail?’ He replied:‘Yes, and I will be there for a long time, after that I will be released.’

We also read:  "When his enemy who is known as Jashengir became the king, they (people) informed him (Ibn Taimiyah) about that and said: ‘Now he has reached to his desire.’ Then he (Ibn Taimiyah) prostrated to Allah in sake of thanking.  They said: ‘What is the reason for this prostration?’ He replied: ‘This is the beginning of his ignominy and losing his power.’ They said: ‘When will that happen?’ He replied: ‘The army when it marches to al-Qurt, he will be defeated.’ Then it happened exactly as I had heard from him.’

Page 490:  It was not just about predictions. Ibn Taymiyyah could also reveal one’s thoughts!  "On more than one occasion, he told me (Ibn Qayyim) about internal things regarding me from the things that I wanted to do but my tongue didn’t mention them."

Page 490:  ‘He told me (Ibn Qayyim) about some great incidents that will take place in the future. But he didn’t specify the time. Some of it I saw and I wait to see the rest.’

On a last note, he performed great miracles, in addition to the ones mentioned.

We read in Al-Alaam al-Alya by Salafi scholar Umar bin Ali bin Musa al-Bazar:

Page 57:  During the days when I was in his company, whenever he began to discuss an issue, and a question came to my mind, before I raised it, he would answer it.

We also read:  “The pious Sheikh Ahmad al-Herimi told me that he traveled to Damascus and he said: ‘When I arrived, I didn’t have money to use and there wasn’t anyone there whom I knew. So I kept walking hesitantly through the streets. Then suddenly a Sheikh came towards me in a speedy manner. He smiled to me and placed a bag of money in my hand and said: ‘From now on, use it, and do not worry about anything, Allah will not let you.’ Then he went as if he had only come for me. Then I prayed for him and felt happy. Then I asked about the Sheikh with whom I had met on my way. They replied: ‘You don’t know him?’ He is Ibn Taimiyah.”

Page 58:  “Sheikh Taqiuddin Abdullah son of Sheikh Ahmad bin Saeed said: ‘I traveled to Egypt when the Sheikh (Ibn Taimiyah) was residing there. I arrived there at night and I was very ill. Hence I visited some place. Then I heard a sound of someone calling me by my name and nickname. I answered, though I was feeling weak. Then a group belonging to the Sheikh (Ibn Taimiyah) that I had already met previously in Damascus entered.  I said to them: ‘How do you know I arrived even though I arrived at this time?’ They replied: ‘The Sheikh (Ibn Taimiyah) told us that you arrived and you are ill and ordered us to transport you.’ Then I knew that this was a miracle from the Sheikh may Allah be pleased with him.”

Page 58: He (Sheikh Taqiuddin Abdullah son of Sheikh Ahmad bin Saeed) also said: ‘I fell ill in Damascus and was so severely ill that I could not sit up. Then I felt the Sheikh (Ibn Taimiyah) standing over my head whilst I was suffering from fever and sickness. He prayed for me and said: ‘You will become healthy.’ When he left me I automatically got healthy.

Page 59:  “Sheikh ibn Emaaduddin al-Mutrez said: ‘I went to the Sheikh and I had limited money. I greeted him and he greeted me and welcomed me and didn’t ask me if I had money or not.’ After some days my money finished. Therefore I wanted to leave his class after praying with the people. But he held me back and when the people left he gave me some money and said: ‘You don’t have money. So use this.’ I wondered with regards to that.”

We have shown a few examples how these Wahhabis (self called ahle- hadeeth) claim something which, according to them,  is not possible for RasoolALLAH sallallahu alaihe wasallam and they on other side prove the same for their scholar. “We say to them: How can you possibly have knowledge of the unseen when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not have knowledge of the unseen?”  “Are you better or the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)?”

Before we conclude it is very important to understand that Allah’s knowledge is boundless.  This has been explained beautifully by Imam Ahmad Raza  (reh. ) who stated that knowledge of what happened in the past and what is to occur in the future (ilm ma kana wa ma yakun) cannot be the essence of Allah’s Knowledge as time has boundaries and Allah’s Knowledge is boundless. He believes that his opponents undermined Divine Knowledge saying  “We have shown that the knowledge of Allah cannot be restricted both in light of religious evidence and rationally. When Wahhabis read books written by the religious scholars and their followers, and therein study the knowledge of the unseen possessed by the Noble Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) in light of the Qur’an and Hadith, and reach the point that the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) possess knowledge of every past and future event from the beginning of creation till the last day, their reaction is to issue fatwas of shirk and kufr upon these writers. They accuse them of equating the Prophet’s knowledge with Allah’s Knowledge. These Wahhabis are flawed in making this assumption and are incorrect. They themselves in fact fall into the pitfalls of kufr and shirk due to this statement, as they level the limited and measurable knowledge [of creation] to the boundless and infinite (ghyar mutanahi).

To sum up, the Righteous Scholars of Ahle Sunna have written extensively and have established beyond the pale of doubt regarding Prophet’s (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) knowledge of the unseen and future events.  Such scholars also include Qadi` Iyad (1083-1149 c.e.) who wrote al-Shifa' fi ma`rifat huquq al-mustafa (The Healing Concerning the Knowledge of the Rights of the Elect One), and Imam al-Qastallani (1447-1517 c.e.) who wrote al-Mawahib al-laduniyya bi al-minah al-muhammadiyya (The Gifts from Allah: the Muhammadan Dispensations).  These scholars have proven the falsity of ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab who preached that one who claims to know something from knowledge of the Unseen is a taghut or false deity (Ibn `Abd al-Wahhab, Three Principles of Oneness)!  In the same manner, the Wahabbi-inspired Deobandis (“Gulabi Wahhabi”) too are rejected for speaking out falsehood against the Prophet’s (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) knowledge of the unseen and future events.  The evidence regarding the Unseen Knowledge of the Holy Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wasallam is too overwhelming to be narrated here and it stands uncontroverted and irrefuted.  We seek refuge in Allah from such statements that smack of enmity to Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasalla) and Allah’s Pure Religion.

I repeat:  Lots and lots of evidence in favour can be adduced on this subject.  The proofs for Ilm-e-Ghaib are so numerous that the Wahhabi Deobandis can be buried under the evidences. How can the devil’s disciples understand the extent of Prophet’s (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam)  Knowledge of Unseen bestowed on him by Allah (swt) when they have no sense at all of Allah’s limitless and boundless Knowledge of the Unseen which is “Dhati” but in fact there is nothing Unseen for Him!   Being a layman with little knowledge, I have only contributed my Two Cents.  I conclude the article with the warning that denying Ilme Ghaib merits Allah’s Wrath:  “Evil is that for which they have sold their souls– that they should deny what Allah has revealed, out of envy that Allah should send down of His grace on whomsoever of His servants He pleases; so they have made themselves deserving of wrath upon wrath, and there is a disgraceful punishment for the unbelievers.” (Surah Baqarah (2): Verse 90)

May ALLAH save us all from the Fitnah E Wahabiyyah in all its forms and manifestations.  Aameen. In the next concluding part we shall bring some ahadith shareef to show that the emergence of Khwarij (i.e. the Kharjis) and their modern prototypes such as the Wahhabis, Tablighis and their offshoots,  and the Fitna they would cause,  were already known to the Holy Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam).

Peace and Blessings upon the Prophet, his Family, and his Companions

Allah and His Rasool knows best.
